isfrd.org website is more or less alive

Filed under: Site News — Tags: — jrrl @ 4:54 pm

For better or for worse, I am making the isfrd.org website live. I have a few more things to finish, but I promised a bunch of redditors that I would let them know what I was working on.

So. Here it is. The idea is to have one day each year when we take all the science fiction (and fantasy) books that are hiding in the general fiction section and move them to their proper place. Pointless? Possibly. Juvenile? Probably. Worth doing? I think so, yes.

Soon, the list will be interactive so people can nominate new books and vote up or down those already listed. I also need to figure out the right thing to do with the green box, or at least get it rotating the different images I have for it. And, of course, there’s the usually nonsense of setting up the twitter account, adding the social buttons to everything, making a widget for people who want to help spread the word, etc.

Thoughts and criticisms appreciated.
